PR & Communications Strategist – 12 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

This role can be on a hybrid working basis, which means you’ll have the opportunity to spend time working both in the studio and at home. We can provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate.  

WHAT’S THE ROLE

As PR & Communications Strategist you understand the difference between tactics and strategy, and the importance of harnessing the right tools to convey your message and drive awareness. With a strong communications background, preferably within gaming, film or TV, you have an expansive list of media contacts, aren’t shy of showing initiative and have extensive experience of both internal and external stakeholder management, ideally including licensed IP. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Strategy development and execution

  • Use research driven data and insights to create, plan, and deliver aligned PR campaigns and events around Frontier’s titles and its brand
  • Work with the wider Publishing team to develop broad long-term strategies for increasing engagement and conversation
  • Commission and analyse mock reviews to inform review strategies
  • Broaden the reach and recognisability of Frontiers’ titles
  • Evaluate and demonstrate the value of all communications strategies

People Management

  • Mentor and support PR Managers across the team, providing consultation on projects where necessary 

Networking & Communications

  • Build and maintain relationships with global media outlets across multiple channels ensuring that a positive brand image is conveyed at all times
  • Attend and support on global events (e.g. Gamescom, Summer Games Fest, etc.)
  • Consult during PR & communications crises 
  • Stay up to date with the changing media landscape and evolving communications trends

Process and best practice implementation

  • Regularly audit existing software and tools, lead on research, recommendation and negotiation of PR tools 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Strong demonstrable experience of managing reputation and relationship building
  • Strong strategic mind set with the ability to critically analyse and interpret data to define and meet goals and KPIs
  • Strong interpersonal communication qualities and social skills 
  • Well-organised, process-driven and able to work across multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and executing on experiential and stunt driven PR activations, with evidence of driving widespread media awareness
  • Must be able to handle complex and sensitive communications with confidence
  • Proactive approach to communications, with the ability to respond reactively where necessary
  • Experience working in a similar PR or related role within gaming, film or TV
  • An understanding of the computer and videogames market, and the specialist and non-specialist media landscape
  • Very strong writing, editing, presentation and communication skills
  • Must be confident in navigating a fast-paced environment and able to react positively to change
  • Willing and able to travel to industry events and conventions
  • Passionate about video games

BONUS IF YOU HAVE

  • Previous experience working with licensed IP
  • Degree qualified or CIPR qualified or working towards
  • International, European or Asian working experience and/or language skills.
