Given the nature of this role, the successful candidate will need to be fully studio based and we are unable to offer remote or hybrid working. We can however provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate. 

Purpose of the role

We have an exciting opportunity for VFX artist to join Frontiers internal cinematics team. You will work with the cinematics artists to create best in class VFX elements to support the diverse range of cinematics asset we will produce. Whether its atmospherics, elemental, particle or mechanical, you'll be comfortable working across a wide array of project types.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take direction from Cinematics and Art leads to create dynamic, class leading visual effects
  • Give creative insight into asset scope and team capabilities when required
  • Build out VFX library for use across all asset types
  • Have ownership of VFX pipelines and provide input on improvements to workflows
  • Engage with Technical Artists on any required R&D tasks.

About You

  • Essential:
  • Demonstrable experience authoring VFX in Houdini Core/FX
  • Experience with multiple asset types including atmospherics, pyro, fluid, destruction, and simulations
  • Experience exporting/ingesting data from Houdini to real-time engines
  • Good knowledge of VFX fundamentals including timing, composition and colour theory
  • Fluent in the latest digital art techniques and best practice workflows
  • Positive attitude and a desire to bring new ideas to the team
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively within a holistic team dynamic
  • Comfortable working autonomously to meet expectations and deliveries.

  • Desirable:
  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engines Niagara VFX and Physics systems
  • Experience working in the animation/film/games industry
  • Keen interest in story, narrative and character development
  • Experience with one or more scripting/programming languages.
