Technical Artist (Shader Creator)

We’re looking for someone with strong shader and render skills as well as a solid visual eye. Frontier’s in-house Cobra engine is highly adaptable and we’re looking for people with a passion to develop and create the shaders and results that back up the calibre of titles we work on. We have a strong internal materials team creating substance based materials, it will be your job to bring these to life as well as dealing with technologies like HDR, atmospherics, lighting, tone-mapping and other visual technologies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Building, extending and supporting the visual technologies for the COBRA engine
  • Collaborating with the art directors on achieving the visual targets defined for the title
  • Working with programmers and technical artists to finesse and improve visuals
  • Profiling and optimising shaders and visuals across multiple target platforms

About You

  • Strong artistic eye backed by a solid technical background
  • A willingness to confidently take on feedback
  • Knowledge of modern realtime graphics techniques for shaders and lighting
  • Strong HLSL and GLSL experience and knowledge
  • Basic C++ knowledge
